Professor Claude Cohen-Tannoudji was co-awareded the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics for the development of methods to cool and trap atoms with laser light. Cohen-Tannoudji received his Ph.D in 1962 from the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, France. In his lecture, Cohen-Tannoudji discusses the concept and application of quantum physics.
